We constructed the worker camp buildings for Turkey's first Nuclear Power Plant in Akkuyu.

We constructed construction site mobilization buildings for the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is currently under construction in the Akkuyu area of the Gülnar district in the province of Mersin and will be Turkey's first nuclear power plant upon completion. As Karmod, we had the opportunity to demonstrate our success in constructing site settlement buildings for major projects that stand out for their global significance in another important project, the Mersin Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. The

prefabricated building system is an unparalleled building model with advantages in meeting the construction site building needs of time-sensitive projects such as energy, airports, and road construction. This is because prefabricated structures offer the possibility of installation in a very short time thanks to their pre-fabricated, demountable pre-production system, easy shipping, and bolted connection feature without welding on site. Thus, with this building model, construction site accommodation buildings that will house thousands of technical personnel and workers, such as the Akkuyu nuclear project, can be quickly installed and made ready for use within a time frame measured in days.

Since 1986, Karmod has been among the leading brands in the production and installation of prefabricated construction site buildings, with safe building solutions spread across 120 countries. That is why Karmod has once again taken on an important role in meeting the container construction site structures needs of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Project, which will be a first for Turkey and, once completed, will have the important function of meeting 6% of the country's energy needs with an energy capacity of 4800 MWe. According to the intergovernmental agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and Russia, this important project will be constructed by the Russian public company Atomstroyexport (a subsidiary of Atomenergoprom, affiliated with ROSATOM) under a build-operate-transfer model. As Karmod, we are proud to be part of this project with our construction site mobilization buildings.

This massive project, consisting of four three-story blocks with a total area of 9,954 square meters and accommodating 3,264 people at the same time, was put into service in a record time of only 105 days. The container dormitory and dining hall buildings, which were carefully prepared with Karmod expertise, provide safe use in accordance with international worker safety standards for the project, which uses the New Generation Container model developed by Karmod R&D. It is important to emphasize the significance of Karmod's organizational success in completing the project in such a short time. The first step in this rapid process, which began with project approval, was production planning. While production continued at the modern facilities in Tuzla Orhanlı, the disassembled units were safely transported to the project site through logistical organization. With the first shipment, Karmod assembly teams on site proceeded with the installation of the blocks in an orderly manner with precision workmanship. Prefabricated worker dormitories were arranged in a planned manner and connected to the main corridor, which stretched out like a string. Both air conditioning and ventilation works were carried out with great care in the dormitory rooms for the well-being of the workers. Prefabricated toilet (WC) bathroom units, planned according to the number of workers staying on each floor, were completed with precision and ready for use, taking into account the ergonomics of use.

At this stage, it is worth mentioning the units used in the blocks located in the construction site mobilization building structures of the Akkuyu Nuclear project. Three-by-seven Karmod new-generation container units were used throughout the project. A total of 126 container units were used in the first block. Of the units used in this block, 108 will be used as dormitories. Also in this block, nine shower units and nine WC units, each with seven separate cabins, were distributed across the floors. In the second block, 84 container units were prepared, including 72 dormitories, 6 showers, and 6 toilets. In the third block, a total of 138 container units were used. Of these, 120 units were dormitory wards, and 9 units were toilet and shower containers. The fourth block in the project is the same size as the first block and has a total of 126 container units. As Karmod, we manufactured and installed ready-to-use construction site worker camp structures, including prefabricated office buildings for managers, multipurpose prefabricated offices, prefabricated offices with special ergonomics for technical personnel, multi-purpose prefabricated offices, prefabricated construction site canteens that meet food safety requirements, and prefabricated dormitory buildings that comply with international worker health and safety standards. Construction site bunk beds are optionally provided by Karmod for engineer and worker dormitories, designed with ergonomic use in mind.
